The tobacco industry in New Zealand has consistently failed to warn people about the health risks from tobacco products and secondhand smoke, according to a monograph released by health researchers from Otago Universitys Wellington School of Medicine. The Tobacco Industry In New Zealand: A Case Study Of the Behaviour of Multinational Companies, written by George Thomson and Dr Nick Wilson, says the New Zealand tobacco industry has continually tried to reassure people that the risks from secondhand smoke are not real.
